I've been for my pre-op assessment today, I have to have another op on my arteries. The femeral-femeral bypass graft that I had to have done in Jan 2010 has blocked and is cutting off the blood supply to my left leg so they will take it out and re do it. Some times on the forum we talk of Docs wanting us to take statins and I want to say take them if you can and remember that having RA meens that we are more at risk from heart attack and stroke, this includes circulation problems. Glenys.

Hello Glenys,

So sorry to hear you are having to have another op. I am sure it is the last thing that you wanted. However it is essential
that something of that nature is done quickly

Agree on your comments on Statins - I take them and have done sicne 2008. Good advice if Doc says you need
them - take them

Good luck do you know when you have to go in yet ?

Rose

Hi Glenys

Goodness that doesn't sound good! Are you in a lot of pain? Hope you aren't kept waiting too long and the operation is successful.
Take care,

Hi Glen!

Sorry to read about the surgery I do hope its not too painful in recovery.

I think keeping a close eye on cholesterol etc is important as the strain the RA puts on the heart and other systems must be significant.

Nice to see your name on here again

I'm so sorry to hear that you have to have yet another op. Glenys. On the plus side, the medics are obviously taking very good care of you, which is encouraging. Don't forget to let us know when you are going in for the op and in the meantime, take care.
